Mirman Mania!

Words cannot describe how excited I am for the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival. Well, actually, that's not really true because you can see that there's more writing below this, but hypothetically, words can't describe how jittery I am towards all of this.

Eugene's fancyfest is pretty much just a four-day gathering of strange men I'm in love with for being so good at their craft, all on stage together telling stories while I get to sit in the audience and laugh. My only responsibility! Laughing! I'm pretty sure half of my "celebrities I can cheat with" list will be performing, and even though I have to schlep on the G train 800% more than I typically do ( I swear, the area between Bushwick and Park Slope is the Bermuda Triangle of the MTA), it's totally, crazily worth it.

The big festival website isn't up yet, but just take a gander at the shows that have been announced:

Why Do I Know Everything About Everyone At This French Diner?: An Evening of Espionage Themed Comedy Celebrating Our Love of the Bourne Trilogy and All Things Spy (SATURDAY 9/18, Bell House, 8:30 doors, 9PM show, $15) w/ Slovin and Allen, William Graham, Kumail Nanjiani, Sarah Vowell, Eugene Mirman, Marc Maron, John Wesley Harding.

I seriously hope there's a follow-up panel about the excessive use of running and resourcefulness in these movies.

Wes and Eugene’s Cabinet Of Wonders (SUNDAY 9/19, Bell House, 6PM, $15) Hosted by John Wesley Harding w/ Yo La Tengo, John Oliver, Colson Whitehead, Darin Strauss, Eugene Mirman.

Because they couldn't rule comedy world enough, they had to go and get Ira Kaplan to come hang out to conquer the music one, too. Pick your poison and stick with it, buck-o! But only once this show's over.

(Side note: this show title is like the best remake of The Indian in the Cupboard. Instead of a dopey old Indian, it's an explosion of jokes!)

Toddless Tinkle (SUNDAY 9/19, Bell House, 9PM, $15) w/ David Cross, Jon Benjamin, John Mulaney, Eugene Mirman, Kristen Schaal and more!

I would make out with this entire cast. Kristen first.

We'll (obviously) be covering this like crazy, so stay tuned for all your funny business. Literally.

Pitchfork.com: Kanye West Returns To Blog Rant Glory

Because of that track on Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening, I'm no longer able to read something like "IMAGINE THE PRESSURE OF BEING A TRUE ICON. VERY FEW HUMAN BEINGS ARE STRONG ENOUGH TO TAKE CONSTANT HATE!!!" without hearing it in Aziz Ansari's ridiculous voice.
