Couch Session #25: Dominant Legs
After a long, draining week of CMJ,
while all of Brooklyn was hitting the hay,
we had Ryan over to record some of his tunes,
to take a load off, to sit down with a guitar and croon.
And though we'd been listening to Dominant Legs for a while by then,
his songs were unexpectedly, serenely intense when we heard them again.
A bit worn down from cheering for San Fran,
(after a week of running around, can you blame the man?)
He still turned around our post-festival haze,
Singing to us, to you, while all I could do was sit back and gaze.
Earlier, I stood in the kitchen, mastering French Toast,
(I mean, it was good, but whatever, I boast)
And we had breakfast, us three, in the middle of the day,
formerly strangers, now friends, just chatting away.
We adore his songs, and to hear them live was a treat,
but we never expected him to be so goddamn sweet.
So with the festival behind us, schedules back in place,
no longer running around New York like we're permanently displaced,
we'll give you one last glimpse at crazy ol' CMJ,
and we're sure that for Dominant Legs, you'll be cheering hurray!
